




Irena Persky is a clinical health psychologist, wellbeing champion, and change activator. Drawing on nearly 20 years of experience working in multiple health care and organizational settings, Dr. Persky brings both knowledge and practicality to her work. She's passionate about translating modern science into concrete and effective strategies and incorporating ancient wisdom, common sense, and her professional expertise to create mind-body health and meaningful lives.
Dr. Persky has expertise in program development and evaluation, management and administration. She holds a number of professional and community leadership positions and is a published author in peer-reviewed scientific journals. Dr. Persky mentors post-doctoral, graduate, and undergraduate psychology trainees and has held adjunct faculty positions. Presently, Dr. Persky is a Whole Health Director at a local VA hospital.
Irena Persky completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago with a concentration in Health Psychology and Associated Research Methods. Throughout her career she continued to advance her skills by participating in various trainings to include Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and coaching. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Biology from Loyola University Chicago Honors College, Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Persky believes that Treasuring Wellbeing is not a spectator sport, thus she practices what she teaches and applies mindfulness, stress management, and positive psychology skills in her own life.
